Why Invisalign?

Invisalign is and always has been the leader in the clear aligner industry. They have spent millions of dollars in research and development to figure out the safest and fastest way to move teeth through the bone. We believe they use the best plastic and technology to provide consistently superior results.

The upside to Invisalign’s method is that there is no wasted time or movement like there can be with conventional braces. Each tooth is in its own “well” and gets moved precisely by the plastic until it arrives at its destination. This also means that the teeth can potentially move more than twice as fast as with conventional braces. What might take conventional braces two years to move the teeth could take Invisalign as little as 9 months!

Lastly, conventional braces are unsightly and difficult to clean. Not only do they look bad, but they also significantly increase your risk of tooth decay during treatment, especially for children and teens. Invisalign allows for proper brushing and flossing during treatment, and carries essentially no risk of causing decay.

Why Holliday Dental?

Holliday Dental has been providing Invisalign for over 20 years (longer than most orthodontists), and our doctors have spent hundreds of hours learning and perfecting the trade through advanced continuing education. We have trained with Molis Coaching and Dr. Ryan Molis, the #1 Invisalign GP in the world.

Dr. JL now is a faculty member with Molis Coaching, working closely with Dr. Molis and assisting in training other doctors on Invisalign techniques. Through constant learning and collaboration with some of the best minds in the world of Invisalign, we are in a unique position to successfully guide you through your Invisalign journey.

Our Treatment Process

3 simple steps. 1 great smile.

1. Meet with our doctor.

Using a state-of-the-art iTero scanner, we will quickly create a detailed, 3D scan of your current smile and map out the custom treatment plan for your new one. We’ll be able to show you a sneak peek of what your new smile could look like.

2. Begin the transformation.

Once we’re happy with your treatment plan, Invisalign manufactures the aligners and we have them in less than a month. You’ll come into the office for about an hour to deliver your first trays, add attachments to your teeth, and perform any polishing in between your teeth that may be needed to create space for adequate tooth movement.

3. Look after your new smile.

We’ll schedule a visit every 6-8 weeks to monitor progress and receive new aligners. After finishing your treatment plan, retainers will be required to maintain your new smile.

What malocclusions can Invisalign help with?

crowding

Crowding

Teeth become crammed into the dental arch and don’t have enough room to fit in proper alignment. As a result, they bunch up on top of each other or “crowd.” Crowding can cause problems for your gum health and may result in bone loss.
underbite

Under Bite

The top teeth stick out too far in relation to the bottom teeth. This can be addressed very easily by Invisalign in a growing patient, ideally aged 11-15. Adults are harder to treat, but in many cases this can still be completely resolved and at a bare minimum, improved drastically.
overbite

Deep Bite

Front top teeth and front bottom teeth overlap with each other too much. Deep bites can cause or contribute to jaw issues and may exacerbate tooth grinding, which can severely damage your teeth over time.
overbite

Open Bite

Top and bottom teeth (front or back) don’t overlap the way they should, and a gap is present between them. Invisalign, in most cases, is actually BETTER at treating open bites than conventional brackets and wires.

And More!

What is a dental malocclusion?

A malocclusion refers to abnormal teeth alignment. More than seven out of ten American adults have some kind of issue with their bites. Misaligned teeth can lead to tooth decay, gum sensitivity and disease, and the buildup of bacteria associated with bigger problems, including heart disease.
What are some of the signs of a dental malocclusion?

Abfractions

Biting and grinding flex the teeth at the gumline and create V-shaped notches which can cause decay, sensitivity, and weakening of the tooth

Lingually inclined teeth

Crowns tip in towards the tongue, crowding the tongue, and increasing the likelihood of airway issues and sleep apnea

Chipping

Premature Enamel Wear

Receding Gumlines
